Why This Site Exists
You get a text, a comment, or a DM with a string of letters you don’t recognize, so you search it. Now you’ve got five different “definitions,” none of which agree, and none of which tell you which one actually fits the message you’re looking at.
That’s the gap MeaningInsider fills. We don’t hand you a dictionary-style one-liner and move on. We explain what a term actually means where it shows up, how it changes by platform or context, and what to say back when someone sends it to you.
Who’s Behind It
MeaningInsider is written and researched by Thomas Callum, along with contributors including David Wick. We’re people who pay close attention to how language actually moves through texting, TikTok, Instagram, Discord, and group chats — not just how a dictionary entry says it should be used.

How We Research and Verify Every Term
Slang moves fast, and a lot of it means different things depending on who’s typing it. Before anything goes up, we check a few things:
- We check how a term is actually being used — not just how one source defines it — across texting, comment sections, and the platforms where it shows up most.
- We say so when a term has more than one real meaning. If a term is genuinely ambiguous, we explain all the common readings instead of picking one and pretending it’s the only one.
- We flag weak or single-source claims as exactly that. If a meaning traces back to one unverified post rather than established usage, we say so instead of presenting it as settled fact.
- We revisit terms as usage shifts. Slang changes meaning over time. Every article carries a “last updated” date, and we update guides when the way people actually use a term changes.
If you spot something wrong, tell us. We fix it and don’t quietly bury the correction.
